Kwiz Computing Technologies was founded on a conviction: data science should produce systems, not just analyses. Systems that are reproducible, tested, and engineered to run in production — not fragile scripts that break when conditions change.
Our roots run deep in environmental data science. As a member of the Environment Institute of Kenya, we built our early reputation working on environmental impact assessments, biodiversity data analytics with GBIF, and geospatial analysis. We saw firsthand how poor data transparency undermines environmental governance — and we responded by building open-source tools like kenyaEIAFetcher to improve EIA data access.
In parallel, we developed deep expertise in enterprise R applications — production-grade Shiny dashboards, data pipelines, custom packages, and API development for organisations across public sector, research, and private industry. Our commitment to 95%+ test coverage, modular architecture, and CI/CD pipelines became our signature.
That engineering discipline eventually extended into quantitative finance. The same statistical rigour and production-grade infrastructure that powered our environmental and enterprise work proved ideal for systematic trading. This led to Kwiz Quants — our flagship product: a systematic forex trading platform that applies institutional-grade validation to automated trading strategies.
